5 out of 5 stars Calibration settings
Amazon Customer
I got a nearly identical model on sale at Sears (SE40FY19) and the TV is wonderful once it's been painstakingly calibrated. I don't know how the TV"s differ exactly (if they do at all, which I doubt they do) so I thought I would post a detailed write up of how I calibrated the tv here in case it helps anyone else.To get the most out of this TV you're going to want to go into the hidden manufacturers menu and change some settings in there. You should be careful doing this because you can seriously mess up the TV maybe even ruin it completely. If you're not comfortable doing this, then don't do it.To access the manufacturer's hidden menu hit the menu button on the remote and enter "0000". This will bring up the hidden menu where you can have real control over the TV.Once in the menu we want to select "Others" then "curve Setting" then "Video Curve Setting". In this menu we can change the range of change on the TV's on screen display menu (the regular menu when you hit the menu setting on the remote). The reason we want to change these settings is because when you're trying to calibrate the tv's image in the menu you don't have fine control, that is, there's only a small range that's useful when calibrating and by default going from Brightness 50 to 51 can be a big change, we cant to minimize that to have finer control over that change. We want to change "Contrast" and "Brightness" to these values: OSD_0 change to 96, OSD_25 change to 112, OSD_50 change to 128, OSD_75 change to 144, OSD_100 change to 160. For "Color" change the OSD values (0, 24, 50, 75, 100) to 32, 64, 96, 128, 160. Change "Sharpness" values to 10, 20, 30, 40, 50.Read more ›
5 out of 5 stars Nice tv

I want to point out first and foremost that there is an error in the listing and that this is not a Smart Tv. This is however still a good LED Hdtv. Sound isn't the best but its not bad either. The visual is great. I am very happy with this tv.
4 out of 5 stars Pretty good!

Well, as many of the other reviews here say, the sound quality is poor. It sounds like a couple of 60s transistor radios at either end of the TV; no bass to speak of, and very "tinny" sound. The picture quality, on the other hand, is surprisingly good for a TV in this price range. It's not the sharpest on the market, perhaps, but the colors are quite good, and the overall impression of the image is quite good. I haven't noticed any color smearing or bleeding in fast motion scenes, and there are no dead pixels. The back lighting is very even as well, giving smooth contrast from center to edge. All in all, it's a goot value TV - as long as you connect it to an external soundbar!
5 out of 5 stars Great TV Set

Great picture! Full HD at 60hz looks a dream, and Seiki is not well known Stateside, but is a reputable brand in China. Buy with confidence.

This is a nice TV that has good picture quality and was very easy to install. However when we opened it it had 1 tiny scratch in the corner. You cannot tell unless you are within like 2 feet of it, but it would be nice if it id not come scratched.
4 out of 5 stars Great picture and sound
Great picture and sound. The only problem I have is that I can't program the DiretTV remote to control volume and other things. I've already got a few remotes on the table, so what's one more. Totally digging it though. Very impressed with the sound quality. Don't even use my surround sound anymore.
4 out of 5 stars not bad, great for the price

Clarity is great, but it doesn't catch all the channels the other tv's in the house do.
